Love God, love others, serve the world.
It derives from the lips of Christ in Matthew 22:37-39 and Matthew 28:19. We truly believe that if you can just manage to handle those three simple things, you will enjoy a relationship with God that is rewarding both to you and the people around you.
Loving God begins in worship. We encourage you first to find a local church to plug into on Sunday morning, but we also have a Tuesday night service that focuses on connecting with God. This aspect of our walk with God is really about engaging Him, and there's a million ways to do that; through prayer, Bible-reading, singing praise to Him, or just listening to a good sermon, the point is to direct your mind and heart to Him, for He alone is worthy.
Loving others is almost as important. At the BSU we want every student to plug into a small group Bible study where they can really focus on building tight relationships with other Christ followers, relationships that will become close friendships based on mutual respect, encouragement and support.
Serving the world happens as we engage the world around us with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate answers to life's most challenging questions, the hope of all things good and beautiful. Whether it's serving at a local shelter, working on a construction project in a foreign country, or simply telling a friend about your walk with Christ, the world needs to know that Jesus is alive.
